I’ve been fascinated by the idea of extraterrestrial civilizations at least since I was a teenager. Based on my readings, my considered opinion is that aliens are probably in contact with some human beings, and that there are likely aliens on Earth, for purposes of their own. To those who ask, “Why haven’t we seen more signs of them?” I would say: imagine human technology 20,000 or 100,000 years from now. Is it impossible that we might at that date be able to be among less advanced beings without being detected? It seems not difficult to imagine. Anyway, some offerings from my own library are below. If I had to choose just one as an introduction to this eerie topic, probably Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind by C.D.B. Bryan.
